Quorum:
A Quorum was declared by Nancy Burke.

Adoption/Revisions of the Agenda:
None

Reading of the Minutes:
Nancy Burke read the minutes from May. Paul Benoit moved to accept the minutes as read, Donna McClarin seconded; motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:
Donna McClarin read the report from May. Total revenue for the month was $56,472.63 and expense was $75,410.34. David West moved to accept the treasurer’s report as read, Stuart Farmer seconded; motion carried.

President’s Report:
Ron Scott gave updates on the ARP funds. Mayor Pulse has signed the contract and it has been sent. The contract is for $600,000 for the water meters and Grand Valley has to pay 10% which is roughly $54,000. The first step in this process is the GIS mapping. Training for that is June 13-15. Please be aware if you see someone walking around your property, it will most likely be them locating the water shut offs. We will get with our grant administrator and engineering firm TLM to understand the process. The most important thing to understand through this process is payments. When we receive an invoice we will pay it, we then send the paid invoice to Hardeman County, Hardeman County will forward it to the state, the state reimburses Hardeman County and Hardeman County reimburses GVL.

Old Business:
David West updated the GVL 2025. There are 3 major projects this year. We need to contact CPA firms to gets quotes on an audit for GVL, Assessment Management Plan, and GIS mapping system.

Ron Scott gave an update on the blight in our area. We are partnering with Hardeman County attorney and Jim Pierce from the zoning commission to help us with this problem. It is a process but they have more authority than we do.

Ron Scott stated that the leash law is still an issue. If you see a dog out without a leash please try to get a picture and get it to the office so we can find out who it belongs to. We can also send this information to animal control in Bolivar.

Ron Scott announced the boat parade theme is “A Night at the Movies’. It is at 4:00 on Sunday July 2nd. We are still looking for judges.

New Business:
Ron Scott stated it has been reported that we have algae in the lake. Tom Wein stated they have purchased barley straw extract to control the algae. It is a natural product safe for everything and doesn’t hurt the environment.
Ron stated there are leeches in the lake and we have looked into products to get rid of them. People are feeding the fish and because of that, the fish are not eating the leeches.
Ron Scott stated some people from our community have formed a committee to look into a swimming pool. There are a lot of things that need to be looked at before that can happen.
Ron stated that one of the things the grant looks at is our financial stability. We are strong financially. Donna McClarin stated that she has been going back through GVL records to find the costs of our equipment and when they were purchased. This is part of the required Asset Management Plan; we need to know what we’ve got, when we got it, how much it cost and when we might have to replace it.

Architectural Committee:
Stuart Farmer stated they approved Dawn White’s request to extend her deck, it
did need a variance which was approved by email. Tom Goforth has gone the appropriate path to cleanup, improve and level his lot on Grand Valley Drive and he is building a shop. Paul Benoit started his project and Roger Hancock is starting a new project soon.

Staff reports:
Tom Wein stated he had 3 reckless driving calls, 2 possible prowlers and 1 unwanted person at the gate. For maintenance they have been working on the roads, will bush hog the levees this month and he has 3 small water leaks to fix.

Club Reports:
Ladies: Nancy Burke stated they had a very successful 4th annual Dirty Bingo. They have finished planting flowers at the gate. They will meet at 10:30 in the morning here at the lodge.
Men’s: Paul Benoit stated they will meet in the morning at 9:00. They will discuss the annual fish fry. They are going to prep 10 fire hydrants around the Valley and then the girls club will paint them.
Girls: Nancy Burke stated they have planted flowers at the beach. They will not meet tomorrow.

Adjournment:
Paul Benoit moved to adjourn the meeting, Jean Harrison seconded; motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 7:50pm.
