President’s Report:
Ron Scott stated the Lead Service Line Inventory (LSLI) has been completed.
Ron Scott stated that according to the By Laws, the Board of Directors can form a standing committee with some restrictions. This was questioned at our last meeting. Paul Benoit explained the Amenities Committee is different from the Men’s or Ladies Clubs, which have no connection with the Board. They have their own checking accounts, whereas the Amenities Committee does not and needs approval from the Board of
Directors on how the money is spent. The Amenities Committee has a balance of $1,657.57.
Ron Scott talked about a meeting we had with George Fusner about collections. There are
approximately 80 property owners not paying dues. We discussed options on how to actively pursue payments. Donna thanked Linda Johnson for her success in working on collections.
Ron Scott discussed suggestions for possible improvements and additions to the marina, Glenn McNinch brought this subject up at the last meeting. Stan is looking into discussing that with someone he knows. It could be an uncovered floating dock marina but this would give people an opportunity to put their boats in a slip and bring GVL more revenue.
Old Business:
Ron Scott gave an update on the water meters stating they will start installing them on September 30th. Donna McClarin talked about the two software contracts for the water system. This is paid for through the grant for five years.
Stan Doyle gave an update on the roads. Johnson Construction will be back next week to finish repairs to the roads. There are 20 different places to be repaired. The designated coves are completed. Ron stated they did request an email vote to do the road around the lodge that was quoted $10,000, and it was approved. Total cost of chip and seal and repairs $88,952.00.
David West gave an update on GVL 2025.
Paul Benoit spoke about the security cameras at the gate. This is a multi-year project. The first phase was to put them at the gate to read license plates, facial recognition and voice. There are other phases we are discussing such as the marina, beach and the lodge. Billy Williams stated the cameras are installed at the gate. Johnny Rustin stated they seem to be working well. They will make a huge difference.
Committees:
Architectural Review: Stuart Farmer stated the Board voted and approved Jeannie Ferri and Angela Quinney on Cedar Drive to put up a decorative fence.
Stuart stated they are also working with the Reisedge family on Pine Ridge Cove as well as the Lemley residence on Teton Cove for a retaining wall. They will both require variances and he will get those to the Board for a vote. Ron Scott stated the lake will be lowered this year for any repairs you may need. Anyone planning on doing repairs or improvements to their seawalls need to get requests in before mid-November for approval.
Staff reports:
Maintenance: Stuart Farmer gave the report stating Tom and Tyler worked on the service line inventory and sent it over to Donna. They also repaired 2 water leaks, finished the replacement of the barbwire at the #1 well, gravel road repairs on the back side, repaired 3 chlorine leaks and repaired the hydraulic line on the dozer.
Security Report: Stuart reported there was one 14 year old runaway who was located within an hour, one report of shots fired that was handled by the sheriff’s department. We are looking for a weekend guard hours 6:00AM-6:00PM Saturday and Sunday.
Club Reports:
Ladies: Susan West stated they will meet at her house in the morning.
Men’s: Paul Benoit thanked everyone for the great support for the fish fry. They will meet up again in October. One of the things they will be talking about is rebuilding of the fountain. Next weekend we are going to pull the fireboat out of the marina to the maintenance shop to do some work on it.
Girls: No report
