Reading of the Minutes:
Nancy Burke read the February minutes. Barbara Parkhurst moved to accept the minutes as read, Stan Doyle seconded; motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:
Donna McClarin read the report. The income for the month $31,408.16; expenses for the month $77,448.10. We have started our new process for collections. While our attorney has collected $5,584 for the month, our fees to him were $1,715. Our part time employee, Linda Johnson, has been working the phones and has collected $20,900.00. So this is working well for us and will continue this process. Stan Doyle moved to accept the report as read, Lona Coffee seconded; motion carried.

President’s Report:
Ron Scott stated the lake is still down and encourage everyone to look at their property lines and clean up the limbs and/or trees before the water comes back up. The last week of March the water will come back up.

Old Business:
Ron Scott gave an update on the marina and spillway. He stated one upgrade is needed for the spillway. It has a lot of barnacle on the inside to be cleaned off and epoxy that. We have requests out for bids and have not gotten any back yet.

Stuart Farmer gave an update on the roads. We had three bids for the paving. One was completely off the chart for us, the other two were almost identical. We as a board are in agreement that Redmond Paving out of Selmer, TN has our best product for the best price. We are hoping to get started in late April or early May with paving of Grand Valley Drive from the boat ramp to Redbud, Gin Pond Drive, a short stretch of Cedar that leads back to the golf course, and the entry way of Grand Valley Drive. That is the asphalt roads. Once that is finished, we will see how much money we have left to put toward the chip and seal for some of the secondary roads and coves. Ron Scott stated the pricing for this is $284,000.00.

Ron Scott stated we did have a request from the Williams’ to put a concrete slab in for a boat launch that was tabled last month. The board did vote on that and was not approved.

David West stated we are in the midst of a long term planning process titled GVL 2025 we anticipate being a 3-year plan. We may find out it needs to be a rolling 3-year or 5-year plan. We have three committees formed. We want your ideas and your input. We are looking for widespread involvement in the community. We are having an informational meeting on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:00AM here at the lodge to gather ideas and input. We’ve had 50-60 items already submitted to the committees. We may not be able to accomplish everything but we still want the input for the long term plan. We need to know what is important and we need volunteers.

New Business:
Lona Coffee has put together informational meetings with Crossroads WI-FI and BEA about internet. She stated everyone knows we need good dependable up to date technology on our internet service. Jeff Capshaw, owner & CEO of Crossroads and one of his technicians are coming Saturday March 19, at 10:00AM to answer any questions you may have. BEA’s chairman and CEO, Jeff Kirk, will have their informational meeting Saturday April 30. He will be bringing Aeneas with him. They are out of Jackson and will provide the service.

Staff reports:
Maintenance: Tom Wein stated replaced a belt on the bobcat, repaired a water leak, repaired the dozer, working on potholes and washouts on the roads, completed 5 work orders, scheduled to install the marina ropes before we raise the lake.
Security Report: Tom Wein stated one vehicle accident, two loose dogs calls and working with the sheriff’s department on some ongoing issues.

Club Reports:
Ladies: Nancy Burke stated they are starting a food pantry for GVL. Jean Harrison suggested if all who attended the monthly meetings could bring canned goods or nonperishable items for the pantry. Nancy stated they will meet at 10:30 in the morning.
Men’s: Paul Benoit stated all men are welcome to attend the meeting at 9:00 in the morning. We had clean up scheduled for tomorrow unfortunately the snow is coming and we will come up with a new date. We will be talking about the installation of the street signs and discussion about the fish fry which will be a little earlier this year around Memorial Day.

Jean Harrison announced to mark your calendars for May 14, 2022. The GVL Dance will be that Saturday at 7:00PM with the band Showtime. On May 21, 2022 we will have our GVL 50th Celebration. More details to come on both events.

Agenda:
Bill Anderson spoke about the water. He would like to know when the water is being flushed and to do it more than twice a year to have better water quality. Ron Scott stated they would check into what they could do about that.

Billy Williams spoke about a power outage and what to do when it happens. Possibly having a backup generator for the Valley. Stuart Farmer stated that we have talked about that on our new committee.

Candidate Interviews:
Nancy Burke asked for the interviewers to come up and start their questions. Nancy stated each candidate will have 10 minutes. After the interviews each candidate will have 2 minutes for any closing remarks they would like to make. The nominating committee is Carroll Huffman, Ernie Kelly, and Amy Williams. The running candidates are Paul Benoit, Stan Doyle, Donna McClarin, and Billy Williams.
