Grand Valley Lakes Burn Requirements

CURRENT DEBRIS BURN PERMIT STATUS:
A BURN PERMIT IS REQUIRED FROM THE STATE

Burn permits are required from the Tennessee Division of Forestry beginning October 15, 2021 thru May 15, 2022 for debris piles in areas without local restrictions.

Check local restrictions in your area prior to conducting any burning activity.

Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s Open Burning Guidelines. To report illegal burning, please call toll-free 1-888-891-TDEC

Follow these simple tips to conduct a SAFE DEBRIS BURN:

1. CHECK FOR LOCAL RESTRICTIONS AND OBTAIN A BURN PERMIT IF REQUIRED

2. GET A BURN PERMIT – Required by the State of TN

3. NOTIFY YOUR NEIGHBORS

4. KEEP WATER AND TOOLS HANDY

5. ESTABLISH FIREBREAKS

6. WATCH THE WEATHER

7. CONTROL THE FIRE

8. STAY WITH YOUR FIRE
